The team needed a minimum viable product to validate the business idea, and from a technical standpoint all of the streaming services had to be integrated and managed from a single source. Since the overall goal of the app is to simplify subscription management, this was ultimately the most critical aspect of the project, and one that we successfully achieved.
We began by working on a discovery process to identify users’ pain points when managing subscriptions. Then, we moved forward with design and prototyping, followed by development. We used React Native and Expo, Node.js and Cloudflare workers for the backend, and SQLite for the database. The app was deployed in stages, starting with a beta release for a limited number of users where their feedback was monitored and adjustments were made.
After over 9 months of hard work, the result is a solid product that will soon be released to the general public. We're big fans of this concept, and we believe it has the potential to change how we all approach streaming services moving forward, so we can't wait to see what the future will bring for StreamWolf!
