Uplift, a product by Upgrade, is an enterprise buy now, pay later solution that aims to solve the complex requirements of leading companies in the travel, hospitality, retail, and e-commerce fields. Through an omnichannel payment platform that seamlessly integrates into partners’ checkout flow and payment processes, Uplift helps consumers take control of their budget and expand their purchasing power and possibilities.
Uplift was already available on a limited number of websites, but their growth team needed help to develop native mobile apps completely from scratch. The biggest challenge, in this case, was to integrate their point-of-sale SDK in mobile form, as well as build out shopping lists, borrower portal functionalities, and app analytics, among others.
To bring Uplift’s new app to life, we used a wide stack, including Kotlin, Swift 5, and Python to develop the backend portion of the apps and React.js for the back-office portals. Our team, which included over 17 developers, designers, and QA engineers, was able to build and deliver the results the client expected.
The iOS and Android apps were implemented and recently launched to production for a limited audience of existing Uplift users to obtain feedback and continue the development process. Our team continues to develop new capabilities that the client’s internal teams will later utilize, and an additional portal was developed to manage all of the merchants that currently operate with Uplift.
