SKOUT is a social network available both in mobile and web platforms with the purpose of connecting people together according to their locations and their search criteria. SKOUT was launched in 2007, therefore, it was one of the first dating apps in the world. This platform has always been recognized worldwide for taking care of its users’ safety and privacy. Currently, it is available in 14 languages and has allowed over 500 million connections to take place in 180 countries.
The client came to us with an MVP, that at the moment had less than 5.000 users, with intentions of reengineering their platform in a way that would allow them to scale quickly according to the user growth they were having.
Our first move was to assign a cross-functional team to review the MVP’s status. We started by analyzing the bug logs and testing for errors to understand the technical challenges we would have to face at the time of stabilizing the app. After that process, we worked on the stabilization of the platform and in the connectivity improvement to achieve the app’s scalability. In addition, we worked on the development of the new versions for both platforms (iOS and Android).
Currently, SKOUT supports over 300 million users without any issue. It is one of the most successful platforms in the social network field. The iOS app has one of the best results in the field as well as an outstanding user experience highlighted by its users.
