GraphQL continues to grow as an incredibly useful tool for web developers. React is a first-class citizen when it comes to tooling and frameworks. Today it's easier than ever to adopt this powerful technology to the stack and start reaping its benefits.

  • Prisma: Turn your database into real-time GraphQL API. With connectors for all major database engines, this tool acts as a GraphQL ORM by exposing an endpoint that can be queried using GraphQL. Apps can directly plug into it, or a backend can use it as a powerful database layer with dozens of features.
  • Yoga: An opinionated and almost zero-config fully featured GraphQL server. Based in express and apollo-server, it has the flexibility it needs to be used in existing stacks but also has powerful features already configured and ready to use.
  • React Apollo next steps: Query components, Preact support, and better TypeScript definitions. Read the latest developments in the React Apollo Client.
  1. Rekit Studio: Text editors are the norm for web development, but sometimes an IDE can be more helpful than a text editor filled with plugins. Based on the same text editor that VS Code uses, Rekit Studio aids in React, Redux and React Router development, with capability for code generation, dependency diagramming, refactoring, building, unit tests, and a meaningful way to navigate code.
  2. Step up your console logging game in your React app: Console logging is an extremely useful debugging tool, but there's much more than console.log(). Read this article to print helpful logs that will make your development easier.

JavaScript gives developers amazing flexibility, but the downside of this is that developers need to be cautious about structuring an application and JavaScript pitfalls.

  • React, Redux and JavaScript architecture: JavaScript code does not automatically become better just because it uses React. It is easy to write low-quality React code, just like it’s easy to write terrible vanilla JavaScript. In this article, architecture concepts are presented with explanations of the reasons for some of those decisions.
  • Introducing Immer- Immutability the easy way: Immutability in React-Redux is a key concept for keeping data consistent, however, most of the packages that help with this rely on string paths and produce large quantities of boilerplate code. Immer solves this by using producers, which allow writing reducers in a way that's easier to read and less prone to errors.
