Taste is a social movie discovery platform designed to help people find films they will truly enjoy. By combining community ratings with a personalized recommendation system, the app focuses on matching users with movies based on their tastes rather than popularity. Taste came to us with an existing MVP looking to improve features and add new ones for their Android and iOS platforms. Upon reviewing the code, we found a few tricky bugs that needed immediate fixing. That was the first challenge, as taking over code that was built by a previous team always requires an initial assessment to ensure its viability. Once that was out of the way, we began planning the development and implementation of the new features the client wanted to introduce.
CodigoDelSur worked closely with the Taste team to enhance their mobile application. Our developers reviewed the existing MVP codebase, confirmed it could be expanded, and then supported the development of new features. A dedicated team handled both frontend and backend work using React Native and Node.js, improving how users discover films, rate movies, and interact with the community across the platform.
